Grains of Sand and Wit by ~FailingMemory127:iconFailingMemory127:

Beach strolling, bound -
for far-off favoritisms, like piers and -
                                                              ice cream cones, never -
sand beneath your feet, nor -
the beaten path of upcropped waves, passed -
by with all disengage, when really -
smarmy seafishers, all hooks and tackles, laugh at -
your simplest insecurities, claiming they -
                                                    appreciate each footfall. Stop -
to listen to each middle man. Stop -
                                                             to follow birdcalls. Stop -
and tenderly reel each fish. While you -
only rudely rush with comma clipped half sentences, squished -
                                                          between YOUR toes.

Eh, I hope this is human nature... if you look at it the way I do, it is. But, this was inspired from a picture taken by my best friend Heathy! (crazycrazygurli) and I used it as the display picture. ^_^ I was looking through her photoblog, came across it, and thought the title was cool, soo.... whala! Here we are. The picture title was Grains of Sand & Pieces of Wheat. Which for some reason made me think 'Grains of Sand & Pieces of Wit' which I shortened. Thanks, Heathy!

I definitely enjoyed this one. My only idea for a change is maybe if you made it three stanzas, like so.

Beach strolling, bound -
for far-off favoritisms, like piers and -
ice cream cones, never -
sand beneath your feet, nor -
the beaten path of upcropped waves, passed -
by with all disengage, when really -
smarmy seafishers, all hooks and tackles, laugh at -
your simplest insecurities,

claiming they -
appreciate each footfall. Stop -
to listen to each middle man. Stop -
to follow birdcalls. Stop -
and tenderly reel each fish.

While you -
only rudely rush with comma clipped half sentences, squished -
between YOUR toes.

but looking at it again, maybe not. Just totally an idea. feel free to leave it.
anyways. I like this one. Good work, its a very fun read, albeit a bit confusing at first.
Definitely worth sorting out.

Thank you. I don't think I enjoy your suggestion enough to change anything... but I might look into breaking it up. My big miff is probably whether to make 'squished between YOUR toes' one seperate line or leave it how it is. I've been debating all day... hm.
Thanks for the fave!

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an O.D.D. feature :winner:! congrats!
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure (and ALSO, to show off people who I think are undeniably talented in their own genre of art, REGARDLESS of their #'s of fav's or pageviews. I like what I like and sometimes artwork isn't featured in the regular DDs because it's popular all on it's own It's a shame, but the admins are only trying to be fair! ). Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! xoxo Steff xoxo :w00t!:
